    Could be a call centre? Called HEROtsc a marketing organisation according to reports on "Who called me", users there give various sources including Vodafone. Being a call centre the source may represent many firms.

    Received a call from this but hung up as I answered. This was on a fairly recently bought, but very lightly used Vodafone phone.

    Checking back on received SMS messages I see that a message apparently from Vodafone (and from the same number) which says '... Are you getting the most out of your Smartphone? Our experts can help you with advice on how to use the mobile internet, email, phone settings, costs and more. We'll call you soon from this number - 01709384780. To stop SMS text STOP SMS to 9774'. So, I guess this is legitimate Vodafone and a mix of tech help and encouragement to use the phone more.

    This had been ringing my wife's mobile phone several times a day, and when she picks up to answer the person at the other end either swears or laughs and then hangs up. We have tried barring this number but this is still getting through.

    I recently had a text from Vodafone telling me they would call soon to check that I am on the right price plan. Inquiries on the web suggest that this number belongs to Vodafone,so nothing to worry about except that it's irritating that they have rung three times in one day and hung up on answer each time
