   20 minutes past midnight!!! When the phone rings at that time you know it's something bad and when it wakes you up it very disconcerting and annoying. This number/line needs to be shut down.

   I am 77 and OAP living in flat alone. That number called my home landline number for first time at 11.23 AM on Wednesday when I was out shopping. It never left a message. I found out last number called me via 1471 when got home, so I called that number back (costs me nothing to call any UK Landline number on my deal with talk-talk) and I heard recorded mumbled voice message in southern accent male voice which did not state who person or firm was, message just said "We tried to call you. It is nothing to worry about. We will endeavour to call you back later". I did not speak. Due advice above I will be switching my phone off when I go to bed so it would not wake me up nor let them hear my voice. If they do call me again at an unsociable hour I will then report it as harassment call and try get number blocked.

   I think this is what may be going on: We all know that CCTV anywhere ca recognise faces. I think these callers are recording voices so that they can (sell? use?) voice recognition wherever there are microphone facilities - just like CCTV uses pictures.

   Called me on Sunday morning and I thought it might have been the hospital or police station about my family members.
   
   Terrible marketing after office hours - they should be shut down. I tried to call the number several times and nothing, not even going through.
   
   This could be worrying for elderly people. We do not need the stress!

   this no rang me after I had been to London for a visit today its near the national gallery at Trafalgar after I had visited this exact place they rang my landline HOW????did they know my no is this coincidence or is this something to do with phone tappers in London or something else ??? anyone any idea ?

   shazzer - you were seen on cctv - did you buy something? - face rcognition gave some marketing company your details (inc. landline) and this number attempts to get voice recognition data. I got it immediately after being in airport with lots of CCTV. (see also my general comment earlier)

   called @ 9.17 last night same as everyone else except @ that time of night I let it ring then 1471 it & get back to the caller if I know them but it's costing me to do that. It's about time that the powers that be got a hold of this problem do something constructive to wipe all this out it's the freedom of information act contradicting the data protection act. can only happen in the UK says the cynic! it's illegal for marketing companies to call after 8pm so could be some foreign caller for what purpose is only known to them!????

    i have just had a call from this number 2342.... really annoying as the line went dead when answered and when i tried to call back,- engaged, surely this should not be allowed esp at that time of night, grrr

    Call came through at 21.50hrs. But it came up as 0442073286956 I know it was a West London number as we used to live there. Rang it back after finding this (just did 02073286956 and it said that the "Service could not be connected". How do calls like ever get through?
