   Further to my comment earlier today I have just received on my landline a BT Text message service call from the travel agent mentioned below. So it looks as though the two calls are connected and that the 02392386688 number is some sort of message service which looks as though it could be used by many different companies.

   Just had a call from this number. A garbled automatic message started which worryingly contained the name of someone I had spoken to and emailed recently (from a travel agent).

   I determined that the call was computer generated because it was received on the answering machine with the first part of the message cut off because it didn't wait for my message to be sent out

   These called me today and 'threatened' me. This story started last night. An unknown number kept ringing around 11.30, then the same thing happened a few minutes later, and I got this number 07404013701, so earlier this morning I rang it, an a man answered it, and more or less straight away he put the phone down. This was when the 02.... Number rang me. Hopefully this extra number may help.

    Garbled message from 02392386688. This an automated message and have not got a clue how they got our number. Not only can then not even make any sense, they are breaking civil law. http://ico.org.uk/for_organisations/privacy_and_electronic_communications/the_guide/automated_calls
    
    Insure you are Telephone Preference Service registered. Though the TPS can not help with automated calls, you should stop any others. http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html
    
    Also register the complaint with Ofcom on their web site, giving as much detail as possible. As with the ICO, Ofcom have the power to close these people down, if a enough complaints are received. http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/tell-us/telecoms/privacy/
    
    You should also inform the Information Commissioners Office, again on their website http://ico.org.uk/concerns/marketing

    This number is used by several businesses to give you updates i get them everytime I pay my Virgin media bill and you get a spoken text message agknoledging your paymeny and reminding you if you services have been suspended it will take 24 hours to get them back ignore it if you like but it will keep ringing you back until you answer VERY annoying

    Call received from this number, garbled electronic message about a service being S-u-s-p-e-n-d-e-d (they spelt the word out) and "service being restored within 24 hours". Called back, got engaged tone, consistently. THIS IS SPAM SPAM SPAM

    Picked up the phone and an automated voice said "this is a message from....." there was a number but they said it so quickly I couldn't take it down. The message was "are you online for real?". No idea what it meant and I wasn't online at the time
