I live in Brussels. I got a call yesterday from 00557, asked "Allô?", got no answer. After 20 seconds, I heard the click of someone hanging up. They have tried to call me again 8 more times (not being at home, I did not answer). There are sixty reports about calls from that number, by people in various countries, at http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/00557
In many instances, the caller presents himself or herself, in a poor English, as someone from Microsoft and tries to obtain the IP address of the person's computer.
