Man called with an India/Pakistan accent, claiming they were 'British Gas' and before they could proceed further they needed to confirm my details. I said "You've got my number and name, you called me, so you can tell me what information you have, and I'll confirm whether you have the right person or not!!!!"
He then said "Sir, we need to confirm who we are calling, before we can say the information".
I said "You called my mobile. A mobile phone is very rarely given out as a shared number, so tell me what information you have, and I'll confirm if you have the right person". They hung up.
I do not owe any money to British Gas. Is it British Gas? If it is the person who writes the phone scripts needs a good kicking. I will never confirm or give any information to someone who has called me from an unknown number. IDIOTS!!! -

I got a call from this number and it popped up as potential fraud on my phone.
I have been experiencing delays in switching providers which resulted in British Gas collections department calling.
Although this call was not welcome it was a genuine call, not fraudulent. They knew my name and address and the amount outstanding on the bill that I had received from British Gas. -

Claiming they are from british gas. I do have an outstanding amount which has now been paid (but not over the phone)
very aggressive but when you get defensive they hang up. If this is how british gas are actually operating this needs to change. -

Called today and left a voicemail mail claiming to be British gas. Googled the number and blocked on account on reading other comments. I have the app and do all correspondence though the app and email as I don't trust phone calls in general

Foreign guy just called saying from British Gas. I asked what call about. He wanted account details to continue. I replied not interested in scam calls and just as I hung up he replied it's not a scam call. Aye right. I'm not even a BG customer.

claimed to be from British Gas regarding an error on meter reading-then wanted to go through some security questions'' to which I refused and questioned him as to what could possibly be wrong with the reading.. told I wouldn't go through anything with him and then he gave me the British Gas general number to call back on which was not the number he was ringing on...all a load of rubbish!

This is definitely British Gas. I sent an email to BG about my faulty boiler but then phoned them the next day to get an engineer out as it had got progressively worse. They phoned in response to my email, but I had already got the engineer out. So it was a genuine call, but the caller obviously hadn't been notified that it was already sorted out.

I never give any , and now blocked that number. If there was a remote chanche they are from British gas, I've should receive a letter first. -

Yet another scamtastic call claiming that my "gas bill was unpaid and urgent action was required", yes I am a British Gas customer but I live in a flat that hasn't got a gas supply, it would be amusing if it wasn't so pathetic, get a grip you scamming bellends.

Written to British Gas filed a legal compliant about harassment calls i received from this number and another two for the past 35 days. The calls stopped and today it is back again for the first time.

These people (who ever they may be) ring my private number at least 3x per day. I constantly tell them they have the wrong number and not to call again. They say they will cross me off their list......only to keep ringing me back!!

within an hour I got three calls from the number, this time with a crackly message about how they are British Gas and would like to speak to me about my account, and can I ring them on an 0845 number. why should I? gonna report it to TPS.

Just got a a call from this number saying that they are British gas and asking me for a payment on top of my monthly direct debit payments. Was a very suspicious call and reported it to British Gas direct, who know nothing about it or why they are calling, as I owe no money to them to be making more payments over the phone.... A very aggressive person too, just kept asking for me to pay money over the phone. DO NOT TALK TO THESE - HANG UP AND CALL BRITISH GAS DIRECT TO QUERY IT STRAIGHT AWAY..
