Mary reported Ted Alert Lifeline with the number 01622397374 as Aggressive advertising
A woman called and indicated she was to do with the government, three alarms for the elderly. She wanted to know my name and my age, who else lived in the house, how old they were, What we had for breakfast, had we passed a bowel movement that day, When did I last have sex... you get the picture.
Then the hard selling started, with a man trying to force us to see a salesman because they were in the area that day. Like a dog with a bone. He then realise it’s a little company run by a man and his wife, started up when his previous start up folded. Don’t touch them with a barge pole. -

What low life this company is. They had my mobile number, then asked for my landline number, asked if I lived alone, asked if I owned the house, read off a card a load of crap. Told me I was to be chosen for free alert system as the Government had alloted funds. Had calls from 3 different numbers wasting my time. Then one of these scavengers called to say it was not free but wouldn't disclose how much. another call said they were sending a rep to my house to go over details in lockdown! Someone calling himself the manager phoned to put pressure on. What I found troubling was these people sounded elderly themselves!! Looking on their site the basic costs start at 65p per day. My heart goes out to anyone who has fallen for this - send the stuff back as faulty, get your money back.

Nancy reported Ted Alert Lifeline with the number +441622397374 as Telemarketer
Called to tell me I could win this alarm system and proceeded to ask for personal details. When asked how they got my number, they said from a database. I said I was listed on TPS database and was not checking this before making calls. I have been contacted by them before. They are very polite, however!

We accepted a call from this company as we were in the process of trying to get a lifeline installed, due to coincidence we ended up with them visiting. Clearly cold-calling/ambulance chasing. Accept at your peril- in person sales technique equally as aggressive and alarmist (no pun intended)!!

Gerry reported PedAlert with the number 01622397374 as Aggressive advertising
At best this a company that breaks the PECR regulations by calling people on the TPS list. At worst it's a scam preying on older people because they don't seem to have a website and are asking whether you're over 65. Don't give them any information, just report them to the Information Commissioner's Office. T
Gerry replied 4/24/18, 3:47 PMCorrection: Turns out that it's TedAlert, not PedAlert (although I did spell it out and asked them to confirm it !), so it's seems to be a genuine company. But they're still breaking the rules by calling people on the TPS list so they should still be busted.

Rachel reported Ted Alert Lifeline with the number 01622397374 as Aggressive advertising
These are true bottom feeders - I had a call that told me I’d been pre-selected and this was done by the government. Whatever they use to get information is out of date- I am on the register so not to get these calls and I shall be reporting you, I got a second call from a different number saying the same almost the same thing and they had a sales person conveniently in my area that could call in the same day - I asked how much and got a manger saying they’d discuss this at the appointment to which my answer was a blunt no! The sale was aggressive to the point of threatening and there was no chance one of them was going to step foot in my house. I have since found out that they charge upfront so wave goodbye to a big chunk of cash and I mean a big chunk. Don’t think the elderly are stupid, naive or daft, my advice is stay clear and report them!
