Persistent phonecalls from this number telling me they were from Edf and my meter has expired its life - when I asked if it was a smart meter he ignored my question and continued to talk about smart meters and putting in a new meter for me - I said I didn't want to have a smart meter and he aggressively told me to let him finish speaking and started talking about smart meters again. I was suspicious and hung up as I don't believe this is legitimate and even if it was the man was far too rude to me for me to want to continue speaking to him

Maybe EDF but seemed very scammy, e.g. all the signs we get told to look out for:
- claiming urgency
- claiming to be from a trused souce/authority without any proof
- I did not initiate this request

Called to tell me I must have a smart meter installed as it was government policy. When I challenged this he got stroppy and started talking over me - EDF you need a different marketing team as this lot are useless and are alienating your customers!

Claiming to be from EDF telling me I had to have a smart meter, I told her I did not want a smart meter, then she started to ask me for account information and to verify my name and address at which point I hung up the call. really didn't know if this was a scam or not and was not going to give out information to a cold caller.

Insisted I have a Smart Meter and when I said I am not required to have one she abruptly said I must have one as my old meter is no longer manufactured and it was now government policy (utter lies). I said am not having one and she got really abusive then hung up. Well done EDF you just lost a customer.

Called several times trying to make me have a smart meter. Quite abrupt when I said I didn't want one.
Either, this is not EDF and a scam
or
EDF are way behind on their smart meter targets so have decided to aggressively pursue customers until they give in.

Two aggressive calls from 019154333402 on June 14 and on June 15 saying they want to install a new meter at my property. I had to enquire persistently 'what type of meter?' until I received the answer 'a smart meter'. When I said I did not want a smart meter I was told that there would be difficulties reading my meter with an implied threat.

Disgruntled reported EDF energy installations with the number +441915433402 as Aggressive advertising
EDF calling insisting I have a smart meter. I keep telling edf I will not have one under any circumstances. Anyway, the chap got more insistent and I kept refusing so he just slammed the phone down on me. I will keep checking my account as previously they've booked an installation without my knowledge which I got cancelled but wouldn't be surprised if they tried that tactic again. Perhaps time to change suppliers but they're all the same
