    Shell energy wanting to arrange smart meter would not clarify how they got my number, sending two texts per day as well, reporting shell to Ico for passing on my details and finding new energy supplier. Number is now blocked

    Several calls from them to try to get me to switch to a smart meter. This is a marketing company working for Shell.
    I never gave them permission to use my number I BELIEVE THEY ARE IN BREACH OF THE GDPR. Failure to observe the act carries massive fines

    Ask them who gave them your number. Ask the name and team number of the person calling and ask them the name of the company they actually work for. Then tell them that you did not give permission for your number to be shared by anyone, and they are in breach of GDPR. Then with the information you have, from them, report them and Shell Energy to the ICO, so they can investigate. If they do not provide you the information you ask for, tell them to get lost and to never ever to call you back

    It's not a scam it's the shell energy company wanting to install smart meter but I admit it can become very annoying if you don't want a smart meter.
