   I phoned Eon Next as I was needing help from them. I was on hold and unfortunately hung up on them by mistake but this number called me back almost instantly and helped me with my issue so it definitely was from Eon Next.

   The caller was a woman with a rather lovely voice and a pleasant, professional telephone manner claiming to be based in Cape Town, South Africa. She further claimed to be from the energy company – E.ON – that supplies me with electricity. She knew or guessed my first name, and asked for confirmation of details of my name and mailing address. However, she did NOT ask for – nor did she receive – my e˗mail address, my account number, or any bank or credit card or debit card details. Furthermore, she did not ask for immediate payment. Nevertheless, my advice is that if you are called from this number, then provide no information, pay nothing, and report the matter by post to your energy company immediately.
