Not genuinely Capital One!

Said they were checking a fraudulent transaction and immediately asked personal info. I have checked and there's no such transaction.

I got away without giving any personal details and am worried for the others here who thought it was genuine. Who did you just give your information to?

it's not exactly a Capital One anti-fraud department. Much more subtle. If you are a suspect customer eg, keep a balance, repay only part, imperfect credit score etc then company watches you and makes you aware that it's watching you to, keeps you nervous to make you think of fraud but it's done to stop you from switching to another credit provider

Capital one calling about possible fraudulent activity on my account but I closed my account with them almost 1 year ago now and when I said this he said oh apologies there mam. It's very fishy coz when I said that he was happy to end the call. Just be mindful. He started to ask for security questions before I called him out.

Called claiming to be from capital one and immediately started asking security questions. Suspecting scam. Not risking it, will call capital one myself to clear it up.

I'm not convinced this is truly Capital One especially as they were hacked recently with millions of customers details revealed. supposed fraud number on a card with Zero transactions in over 2 months, I double checked after receiving the call. so again I am Not convinced this is legitimate at all.
