The Brogeyman reported unknown with the number 01159338000 as Trustworthy number
I have read the comments about this number and I too have had calls from 01159338000. Rather than bury my head in the sand and I did press 1 to accept the message. It was a message from the Vets to remind/inform me that my dog is due its yearly injection and to contact them to arrange an appointment. This is correct information. As to the pros and cons of using this system I pass no comment. But I think that it is called use of computer automated technology

Anon 13 reported Esendex with the number +441159338000 as Trustworthy number
Had an audio text message from this number relayed to my landline. It was my insurance company regarding a claim. They have my landline number instead of my mobile number.
I've had quite a few of these calls over the years from different numbers and I have checked them out.
This number is owned and operated by a company called Esendex. They translate text messages into audio for their business clients and relay it it on to the intended recipients. If you do a search on this number, the Esendex web page should be somewhere on the first page and will provide additional information.
All these audio text messaging translation companies work using similar technology. They don't work on answerphones and sound suspicious when you answer as the computer voice tells you to press buttons on your phone. If you hang on and don't say or do anything - the computer will eventually read out the message.
These messaging services (there are at least 6 to my knowledge) are free to answer. You can test how they work by sending a text to your landline. It's likely that a different service will call you a few seconds later but they all work in a very similar way. That's more or less what a genuine audio text message sounds like when you pick up. -
Investigator Adam reported Esendex with the number +441159338000 as Trustworthy number
Not sure who this was. Same thing. "This is a free message. Press 1 to hear it, or 9 to reject it". I hung up. It's absurd to expect people with more than one brain cell in today's world of scam callers to know that it's legitimate.
While typing this it rang back. It was Specsavers.
Esendex...change your message, it's bad customer service. -
NotGoingToASDA reported number 01159338000 as ASDA
There isnt a rating for "WASTE OF TIME" or I would choose it.
A call came in from this number while I was too busy to answer it,they didnt leave a message so I assumed it was PPI or similar.
My shopping order didnt turn up so I called ASDA to ask why and why no call to explain. It turns out they DO use an automated service to make contact and if they do not make contact your order is cancelled without any further notice.
I'm about to take three kids to a birthday party the temptation to let them get hyper on cake and E-numbers so they can run it off in Asda is strong indeed.
This service is simply annoying and completely useless, it does not provide any level customer engagement.
You have mobile numbers and email addresses, if only there was a better way they could be used.DannyFromDerby replied 7/31/17, 8:23 AMI had 2 missed calls from this number on 31 July 2017 at 7:45am.
I am very careful when it comes to missed calls from unknown numbers so I looked it up and found these comments.
Thanks to 1 comment in particular I checked my Online Grocery Orders with ASDA and found that it had been cancelled. Had I not looked up the number and found this comment then I would have been totally unaware until after it should have arrived.Philip Russell replied 2/3/20, 1:06 PMIt's safe to answer 01159338000 so I've added it to my phone as 'Msg Service". Although it's a stupid service because people are blocking it because it appears dangerous. -
Synycom reported unknown with the number 01159338000 as Harassment calls
Read through comments. This is clearly a sham with people saying its legitimate. How can it be if it's from Tesco, Pizza delivery, petrol etc. They have just set up a range of legitimate sounding responses. Now blocked.

Has to be a scam of some sort. -

Placed an order online through AsdaTyres for 4 tyres, picked my local fitting station then printed off the order. Few minutes later the phone rang with this number and I ignored it, answered a subsequent call and it was an automated call from Asda confirming my order and its status.

oscar520 reported Intrum Justicia (France) with the number +441159338000 as Debt collection company
I have no idea whether this company makes unwarranted calls or not, BUT, in *my" case, at least, the call (in a French feminine robot voice, Free call, press 1 or 9, etc) was justified and *not* a scam.
It was quite anonymous, recalled once till I acknowledged it and did *not* say who's company was calling, or for what reason.
I am French, and I live in France.
I DID owe about 100 EUR to the French Government for parking wrongly my car, and forgot to pay it. It then send the process to a private debt recovery company called Intrum Justicia or SCP Krief Jacky-Beddouk Pierre, Huissiers de justice Associés, who first sent me a letter, 15 days ago, then, upon my lack of reaction, apparently subcontracted the "last call before tough action" to this autocall UK company. The message said (in French) "Last call before Accounts freezing, file reference ###" (rough translation), which indeed was the ref of my case, when I carefully looked at the letter.
However, the message was so short and uninformative, and coming from the UK, plus no identity of reason or caller, that I instantly thought it was a scam. A good thing that I went further and investigated the case in detail.
I did pay immediately, because I realized it was not a scam, I did owe the money, and the debt recovery companies can use police to break into you flat and take whatever they wish (something one is better off avoiding).
I hope this message was not too long, and will be useful to further readers.
Best wishes from France ! -

John M reported ASDA with the number +441159338000 as Trustworthy number
Got a call from this number and immediately assumed it was a scam so hung up.
Looked it up here and saw it might be legit.
They called again ten minutes later, I accepted and it was from ASDA, specifically "George point com" informing us of a delivery delay. Why they didn't use any of the other contact details they have I don't know, but that's on Asda, not Esendex.
After the message it asked me to press 1 to acknowledge receipt. I'm assuming it would have called again if I'd hung up without doing so. -

bryh reported Esendex with the number +441159338000 as SMS spam
This number has called the landline several times a day since Monday (today is Wednesday). we have received mobile texts from Welsh Water a short while after calls from this number on landline.
I called the number back with an anonymous number and it leads to a recording of an English woman saying that this number will be from a company using "Esendex", which is a mass SMS delivery company. It seems Welsh Water are sending out texts to all phone numbers they have, including landlines, but of course since they cannot receive SMS like mobiles it is an empty call.
I cannot confirm this, but it's what seems to be the case. Still be weary. -
AgProv reported number +441159338000 as Esendex
After much digging I discovered the suspicious repeated call on 01159338000 was in fact from a company called Esendex, who act as a forwarding service for legitimate companies. But I would put it to Esendex that when the call, on behalf of their clients, takes the form of a cut-off indistinct garble followed by "press one, press two", et c, THEY ARE FAILING TO COMMUNICATE ON BEHALF OF THEIR CLIENT COMPANY. I would be unhappy to pay Esendex to place messages on my behalf if the result is the opposite of the intended one - ie, the receipients write it off as amateurish scam or fraud and ignore it. you MUST revise this and get it right - state clearly in the phone message exactly who is calling and WHY. Esendex, are you (or your paying customers) happy to be written off as a bunch of scamming amateurs?
Debby replied 12/29/20, 8:51 AMHi,

The most appalling experience with a spammmer / scammer.
Robocall message which was COMPETELY UNINTELLIGABLE except for instruction to press 1 or press 2. Every 2 hours day and night. No sleep. I have no idea what I agreed to by pressing the number but I'm sure I will find out.
WHY DOESN'T THE UK GOVERNMENT DO SOMETHING TO TRACK AND PROSECUTE THESE MONSTERS?Debby replied 4/20/20, 9:19 AMHi David,

Called me at 5am. Who does this?? Three quarters asleep so I pressed 1. Nothing. I believe this to be a scam, the "this is a trustworthy number" notwithstanding. They want your email address. Don't give it them.

Jane reported United Utilities with the number 01159338000 as Trustworthy number
This is a message forwarding service - press 1 to hear who it's from. My message was from United Utilities confirming our arranged appointment in 2 days time. When you've heard the message press 1 again to confirm received and they will not call you again. Not spam or anything to be concerned about but as it's automated it will repeat call until you listen and press 1 again.

This number is perfectly safe. It's an automated number used by many companies to field info. I've just completed the UK Government's Verify service for online tax accounts, etc, and the Government's security code to complete the process - to confirm my identity - came from this number. I'm now officially online with HMRC.

Rand three times in 10 mins and each time started with the statement "You will not be charged for this call". Of course I won't! If the caller has something legitimate to say then say it!

Please send an email to [email protected] with your details and we will ask the company to remove your number from there database.

NUISANCE. REPETITIVE PHONING. Called four times in space of 15 mins SIMULTANEOUSLY on landline and mobile. Did not answer so voice messages left but only the end/one word that is difficult to decipher. Have blocked caller on iPhone and need to work out how to block on landline.
Would encourage to report on a few websites. Wish there was one reporting system which would then pick up the trend more quickly. I feel slightly unnerved by continuous calling and can only imagine how more vulnerable persons would feel.Esendex replied 3/28/17, 1:47 PMHi Sarah,
We'd be happy to contact the company that is using Esendex to send voice messages.
Please send an email over to [email protected] with the number the messages were received on and we will action that for you.
