Was called today by 0800 077 8057, related number on answerphone stated as 00441273 576 806 alleging call was from AmEx. I rang AmEx back using the number on back of my card. Callee confirmed was a valid number and in fact AmEx were checking validity of an online purchase today. All was well. HTH.

I phoned the customer service number on the back of my card and asked about the text from 01273576806. The real customer service dept at Amex checked my account and confirmed no reason for Amex to be sending a text or trying to contact me. It's a fraud!
