I blocked this number after reading on a number of sites that they are a market research company. Don't believe their story that they do not have to comply with data screening /TPS lists etc. I do not think that their excuse 'we are not a marketing/sales company' should excuse these people from TPS lists and private numbers They are unsolicited / cold callers. Presumably they are receiving payment for contacting people. Or are we to believe they are calling for the fun of it?. The public should not have to be responsible for contacting these people to stop the calls. They are a real pain. Especially as they let the call ring 3 or 4 times and then hang up. Current legislation is not good enough. I never give permission for companies to pass my number/personal info to a third party - in this case a market(ing) research company. I do not know who gave them my number but I definitely did not. Stop harassing people and cold calling.

Am ex-directory & on TPS list, neither of which they respected - plain cold calling. Also, they rang off after 4 or 5 rings - I'd rushed to get to phone - totally out of order as I have disabilities.

Jodie replied 2/10/17, 2:09 PMScottish power energy network asked if I would be ok with answering short few qus and said that it would be EMR ringing. Very friendly and fine with this as I had pre approved and been informed so knew it wasn't cold calling etc. Could be different companies calling for you but hopefully they too have informed you beforehand. -

I've had power cuts so that's why they are contacting me. So nothing to worry about! -

Called my mobile at 5.20 this evening. Hung up as soon as I answered. Don't care if they are a legitimate co, although I suspect not, if they have my mobile number, they need to say who they are and why they are calling. As with all silent calls, immediately blocked and reported to ICO.

Being ex directory or on TPS does not apply apparently. They buy lists, so should respect GDPR, but could not tell me where they got my number from because of, you guessed it, GDPR
