    I live in the United States. Someone in India opened an Amazon India Account with my email address! It was a nightmare getting a hold of someone at Amazon India. I had to resort to opening up a brand new Amazon India Account (even though I will never use it) just to get through to Customer Service Chat. They eventually understood my issue & per my request they were able to have Amazon Call my United States Mobile Phone Number so that I didn't have to pay for the long distance call. The Caller ID showed 442070237937 & the Security Team at Amazon India finally removed my email address from the Unauthorized Account. Although Scammers can spoof a Caller ID with the same number, I can verify that I was actually speaking to Amazon India as they called immediately as I was on Chat & they resolved my problem. Cheers!

    Not genuine Amazon. Amazon customer service employee or contractor is passing on customer numbers to a scammer when there is a case for refund or non delivery. The scammer then spoof calls and pretends to be Amazon pretending they will give refund if you confirm details. This is very dangerous because this number is one of the Amazon call back numbers but is also being spoofed by scammers. Be very careful.

    Went through the Amazon app and requested a call back for a missing delivery.

    The number unfortunately is genuine, however as said in a previous comment, the person on the phone was asking for bank account details saying that my Amazon account was on hold and he could not enter into it without me giving him my details. At that point I ended the call. Someone within the Amazon customer service is giving customer details to scammers or is indeed a scammer.

    I called Amazon customer services on 0800 279 7234 and spoke to a real customer service advisor and they resolved my issue immediately.
