This number called my landline then immediately after my mobile but it came up as BRITIS GAS. ( with the H missed off the British.). Be very cautious as they want to enter your home or make appointments for a service etc. as others have reported here it’s a SCAM. you can book these things yourself through the app.

After a long delay, a foreigner claiming to be from British Gas wanted me to book a gas boiler service (not due 'til December). Knew my name which means absolutely nothing with regards to being genuine or not. Either BG has started to scam its own customers or the number has been cloned.

I had a call from this number yesterday, the caller said he was from British Gas to arrange a service. I wasn’t convinced that he was genuine and I asked him how I could be sure that he was from British Gas, he immediately hung up.
Although this is a genuine BG number, scammers can “mimic” numbers to make it look like the call is legitimate. I will log into my British Gas account when I want to book my HomeCare service. -

Everything about BGas Homecare and boiler service chase up is a scam and operated by scum. The engineer will "visit" for annual service that's not due and lower your boiler/system pressure almost doubling your annual costs. Then after the boiler breaks (lower pressure causes leaks) they will "offer" a boiler at 1.5 times the normal cost. Same thing with electrics. Report this number to police.

I looked at the British Gas website for a boiler quote but decided to leave it. About an hour later this number called me and asked if I was still interested in the BG quote. Asked him to email me info which he said he would do immediately. Still received nothing a day later.

Received a call from this number who said they were from British Gas ringing to book my boiler service. They knew my full name but our British Gas account is in my husband's name and as far as I'm aware they don't have my full name. When I said that we book our services online the caller said that the booking system was down and he would do it for me over the phone. I said no thank you and put the phone down, I went straight onto the British Gas website and although my boiler service is due the system was working fine and I booked it online. I suspect it is some kind of scam and he just happened to get lucky with the timing coinciding with my service being due.
