   Caller said they were from HSBC, re a transaction on my account. Knew my name and last 4 digits of account number.
   Declined to give them any info, disconnected call, switched phone off and back on, then called HSBC. They said no mention on account of a call and no issues with any transactions.

   Called my father saying they were from HSBC asking for security info. My father said he would ring, lady gave him this phone number. 20 mins later lady rang again saying "I thought you were going to ring me back", he explained he was worried it was a fraudulent call and was going to ring the bank to confirm. He rang HSBC, they said they had not tried to contact him. Lady at HSBC rang the number he had been given, she said it rang 4 times and cut off. I just rang it, It played the HSBC recorded message that HSBC had contacted him, no need to ring back, only the very beginning of the message was missing.

   Called saying they were HSBC and wanted to check a transaction on my account. Asked me to confirm my date of birth, but I told them I would ring back. Called the bank on another number, and they checked my account, there were no issues flagged. Therefore a phishing call, however this person seemed to know my name and date of birth.
