Call from Nationwide about local branch closing for a few days to have repairs carried out. Didn't ask for any of my personal details. When I asked how I know the call is genuine she said that she wouldn't be asking for account details and it was just a call to make me aware of the branch being closed for repairs. If you are called by this number it is likely to be Nationwide but they will not ask for account details or security information. If they do ask for account details or security information, then it is likely to be a scam spoofing their number.

Called and my unsuspecting husband divulged many personal details, and when he handed the phone to me, the call was terminated. We then called Nationwide and they confirmed it was not their number and raised a fraud alert. Shame on the caller. Please get a proper job and don’t try and defraud unsuspecting people

Fraudulent number. Asked me to confirm my details and I declined. I then called nationwide to ask them to confirm when they last called me and they said they haven’t since March (I received a call from this number in June). This is a scam number and you should block them.

+44800281801 called me left a voicemail and told me they was from there fraud team and that I needed to call them back on this 08004643051 and then couldn't do anything and passed me through to another and I kept telling them I'm not a nationwide customer anymore kept on waiting and just hung up and thought it was strange a few minutes later I got a call from this number +44800281801 but didn't answer

Called to report there was unusual activity on my account and they would be asking me a series of security questions in order to discuss it with me further. THIS WAS NOT NATIONWIDE!
Before answering any questions, I called Nationwide and they confirmed that the call did not come from them. -

This is the number of an elaborate scan operation who claim to be Nationwide. My sister unfortunately fell prey and was bamboozled into transferring £4500 into a 'new account' after it was claimed her details were stolen and used to make purchases in another country. She was scammed in December 20 and still hasn't got her funds back 6 months later, as the scammers transferred it straight into a Barclays account (presumably their own) financial ombudsman is involved.
They use the same hold music and automated voice etc as Nationwide -

Missed call from this number. Rang back it had an automated response which said it was nationwide and they would ring back. I got in touch with nationwide and when they checked this number does not belong to them. They have no record of this number. They classified it as a scam.

This is NOT Nationwide. I have spoken directly with Nationwide and they have no affiliation with this number. Nationwide confirmed they had not tried to contact me, that my accounts were fine & they had no records of this number. When the next harassing call came through (currently daily) I challenged the caller and the speaker slipped & mentioned they are a credit collections agency not Nationwide. Do NOT provide any security details & block the number if you can.

Been calling for days...ask me to go through security...thought this one of the big NO NOs i.e. your bank will never call you and ask you to do that...called Nationwide and told it does look like one of their numbers but no issues on account...so no idea why anyone would be calling...MOST ODD! Await clarification by Nationwide. Has someone managed to hack/clone their tel number? Woman on the 0800 number does say I am welcome to call back on another N'Wide number but then a scammer would say that...to maybe make you feel ok and just continue...so...if turns out to be legit will report back...meanwhile suggest a call back to known Nationwide number and do not engage...bloody persistent mind!
