Found out it's an sms message, telling you to phone a number they give you, no way am I phoning them I don't know who they are

I figured out what this is! It's when a mobile sends a text message to a landline - I rang my husband's mobile from our landline and a minute or so later got a silent call from this number. Husband's mobile sends out an automatic "I'm on the phone will call you back" sms if he's on the line -- and this is what the callback was. Mystery solved! I suspect that other callers are being texted on their landlines by friends who select the wrong number to text.

Started late last night and after checking the number, guess its BT text message service re: delivery from parcel force. Not too sure why the company I ordered from sent Parcel Force my home number instead of my preferred mobile number but the number of calls from this number was excessive and intrusive. Rang until way after 10 last night. When answered, was 'blank' so couldn't clear. Eventually just blocked the number.

Three phone calls from this number to my Virgin Media landline starting at 5.40 am to 5.55 am. t is not a text service number. There was no message. Just the zap noise coming out of my answer machine and waking everyone up on all three calls. It is now blocked.

BT Text to Speech number. We have opted out of receiving text messages converted to speech as it's awful, we are still receiving them.
It doesn't matter who sends you the text, this number is a BT number which converts the SMS on their behalf.

Received this automated text to the landline at 7:30am, mum thought it was dodgy and hung up luckily they rang back, it was quite difficult to hear/understand but after I pressed 1 to hear the message states the specific item I ordered (about a week via an Amazon seller), will be delivered between 11:15 & 12:15 by Parcel Force so for me at least this was a genuine call.

BT Text Service (Legit) whoever contacts you through it may not be legit. Annoyingly I was woken up at 7am this morning and it gave the number as 0844 358 5862 which, as it was not an 07xxx number; I automatically assumed to be PPI or some rubbish taking a new sales approach. Turned out to be PARCELFORCE advising me of a parcel ETA.

Is a txt message service that somebody has sent to your landline number if you never give them your mobile number. Parcel force use this number quiet a lot to tell you when a parcel is going to get delivered because you gave a landline number instead of a mobile number.
There is a long pause when you answer the call then gives you options press the one to read txt message. Is just like getting a txt message on your mobile but because it has been sent to a landline number, a automatic voice reads the txt message you have received.
Perfectly safe is not a nuisance call or marketing. Is just a BT service that reads txt messages sent to your landline number. Usually from a courier to tell you what time a parcel is going to get delivered -

This is BT text service notifying you that soemone has sent a SMS to your home phone number which it will subsequently read if your home phone is not SMS enabled. A pain as it doesn't seem to be limited to reasonable hours. I don't remember telling Parcelforce that I wanted a 6AM wakeup call, I seem to remember ordering an item and receiving an email with tracking info saying they were going to deliver it. Why they feel the need to send me a messae which reuslts in 3 calls prior to 7AM I have no idea, I just widh they'd get on with delivering my parcel.

This number is an SMS text messaging service that I guess companies use ... My dentist uses this service to contact me regularly and did just now to remind me of a dentist appointment next week... Hope this helps you guys getting calls from all different companies... It is a legit messaging service and if you don't get the call it will call you back...

They called to say western union had money waiting for me and gave me a reference number. I didn't have time to write it down, but neither I nor anyone we know uses western union, and I don't give my landline number out, it's also ex directory.

Also 0844 3585862. It's an automated messing service. We had a message from the local dentist saying we had an upcoming appointment. In our case it was genuine. We've had such messages before. However, the company sending the messages doesn't seem to be choosy about who else pays them. Call wasn't wanted or needed. Similar comment put on that number as well.

Not sure who this is they rang several times over past few weeks. I have it down on my truecall device as parcelforce but I wasnt expecting any parcels nor got any after they rang. They number is blocked so dont know they rang until i check later

Perfectly safe unless you don't want to know when your going to receive a parcel. Don't moan then if your not in when the parcel gets delivered
